Scope of the consultation

The consultation includes a medical history, examination of the skin, hair and nails, establishing a diagnosis and discussing further management. Where necessary, we carry out dermoscopy of pigmented lesions and order additional tests.

General dermatology

  • inflammatory skin diseases: atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact eczema,
  • acne vulgaris, rosacea and post-acne changes,
  • diseases of the hair and scalp, including various forms of hair loss,
  • nail diseases, including testing for fungal infection,
  • skin infections: bacterial, viral and fungal,
  • assessment of melanocytic naevi and qualification of skin lesions for removal,
  • sexually transmitted diseases within the scope of venereology.

Aesthetic medicine

How the visit proceeds

  • Medical history – how long the symptoms have lasted and how they developed, previous treatment, coexisting illnesses, medicines taken, allergies and family history.
  • Examination – assessment of the skin, where necessary over the whole body, and dermoscopy of pigmented lesions.
  • Diagnosis and discussion of management – we present the possible treatment options together with the expected duration of therapy and its cost.
  • Recommendations – given in writing, together with a prescription if one is needed and the date of a follow-up visit.

A visit usually lasts 20–30 minutes. Assessing all moles over the whole body takes longer, so please mention this when booking.

Preparing for the visit

  • come without make-up if the lesions are on the face,
  • remove nail polish if the visit concerns the nails,
  • stop using medicinal preparations 2–3 days before the visit so that the clinical picture is not obscured,
  • prepare a list of the medicines you take and the results of previous tests,
  • photographs of lesions taken during a flare-up, if the symptoms are milder at the moment,
  • avoid sunbathing in the period before a mole assessment.

When it is worth booking a consultation

  • a skin lesion is growing, changing colour or shape, itching or bleeding,
  • lesions persist for more than 4 weeks despite using over-the-counter preparations,
  • heavy hair loss is accompanied by thinning visible in the mirror,
  • nails change colour or thickness or separate from the nail bed,
  • skin lesions recur in the same place several times a year,
  • a chronic condition requires monitoring and adjustment of treatment,
  • you are planning an aesthetic medicine treatment and would like an assessment of which method is appropriate.

Medical records and prescriptions

We keep medical records of every visit in accordance with the applicable regulations. Recommendations are given in writing. Prescriptions are issued electronically — you receive the code in a text message or as a printed information sheet.

Continuing treatment of a chronic condition requires a medical assessment. An online consultation is available, with a prescription if the doctor considers it justified after assessing the patient’s condition. We do not issue prescriptions without a prior consultation.
