Organisational information for patients
Below we have gathered the information patients ask about most often when booking: how to prepare for a visit, how to obtain medical records, the rules for issuing prescriptions and how visits are paid for.
Preparing for a visit
| Type of visit | Preparation |
|---|---|
| Dermatology consultation | Stop using topical medicinal preparations 2–3 days before the visit; bring a list of the medicines you take and the results of earlier tests. |
| Mole check | No make-up or self-tanner, no sunbathing, and remove nail polish if the lesions being assessed are on the nails. |
| Nail diseases | Remove nail polish and stop antifungal preparations — this is a condition for collecting material for a mycological test. |
| Hair diseases | Washed hair, without styling products; photographs from the period of heaviest hair loss are useful. |
| Aesthetic medicine consultation | No make-up; information about earlier treatments together with the type of product and the date; a list of anticoagulant medicines. |
Photographs of lesions taken during a flare-up are valid diagnostic material. Many skin diseases recur, and on the day of the visit the symptoms may be milder than during the period that prompted the patient to seek help.
Medical records
We keep medical records of every visit and store them in accordance with the applicable regulations. Patients have the right to see their own records and to receive a copy.
- an application for access to records is submitted at reception,
- records are made available to the patient or to a person they have authorised,
- we do not charge for making records available for the first time in the requested scope, in accordance with the Act on Patients’ Rights,
- authorisation to access records and information about the state of health is noted at the first visit; it can be changed or withdrawn at any time.
The rights patients have are described on the page patients’ rights. Forms to download are in the section downloads.
Prescriptions and continuing treatment
Prescriptions are issued electronically. You receive the code in a text message or as a printed information sheet. It can be filled at any pharmacy using the code and the PESEL number.
We do not issue prescriptions without a prior consultation. Continuing treatment of a chronic condition requires a medical assessment, because the dose and the choice of product change with the course of the disease. In many cases an online consultation is enough.
Payments and invoices
- visits and treatments are fully payable — we have no contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ),
- no referral is required,
- we issue an invoice on request — please mention this before making the payment and give the invoice details,
- prices apply at all locations and are given in the price list.
Patients under 18
A visit by a patient under 18 requires the presence of a parent or legal guardian. A person who has turned 16 consents to examination and treatment alongside their legal representative. The scope of visits for children is confirmed when booking — the information is on the page paediatric dermatology.
Frequently asked questions
Is a referral needed?
No. We see patients privately and no referral is required.
How do I cancel an appointment?
Please call reception as early as possible. This allows the slot to be offered to another patient.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. A patient has the right to have a close person present while healthcare services are provided.
Will I receive the recommendations in writing?
Yes. Recommendations are given in writing together with the date of a follow-up visit.
Can I get advice over the telephone?
Reception provides organisational information. Advice on treatment requires a consultation — an online consultation with a prescription where appropriate is available.
How long are medical records kept?
In accordance with the applicable regulations, we keep records for the period required by law, counted from the end of the calendar year in which the last entry was made.
Can I change the doctor treating me?
Yes. Please mention this when booking. Records from earlier visits remain available to the doctor continuing the treatment.
