Consultations cover aesthetic medicine. If lesions requiring dermatological diagnostics are found during the visit, we refer the patient to the specialist dermatologist seeing patients at the clinic. Keeping these two areas separate is a rule of practice at HappyDERM.
Scope of the aesthetic medicine consultation
The consultation includes an assessment of the condition of the skin and the distribution of facial tissues, a discussion of the patient’s expectations and a treatment plan together with the expected result and cost. We present the plan in several variants where the goal can be reached by different methods.
- assessment of skin quality: hydration, density, firmness, tone and surface,
- assessment of tissue distribution: volume, facial contour, symmetry,
- establishing the order of treatments when the plan covers several methods,
- treatments improving skin quality and hydration,
- treatments using hyaluronic acid and biostimulators,
- management of loss of skin firmness,
- combined treatments improving the appearance of the skin.
How the consultation proceeds
- Medical history – chronic conditions, medicines taken, allergies, previous aesthetic medicine treatments together with their dates and the type of products used.
- Assessment – examination of the skin and assessment of tissue distribution at rest and during facial movement.
- Discussing the plan – we present the possible options, the expected result, how long it lasts and the cost.
- Medical qualification – establishing contraindications and the date of the treatment. Some treatments can be performed during the same visit.
The consultation usually lasts 30–40 minutes, as it includes assessment of the tissues and a discussion of the plan. Please allow enough time.
Preparing for the visit
- come without make-up,
- prepare information about earlier treatments with fillers, including the type of product and the approximate date — this matters for the safety of further treatments,
- a list of the medicines you take, especially anticoagulants,
- if you are prone to cold sores, please mention it when booking,
- no alcohol for 24 hours before a planned treatment.
What you can expect after the consultation
The aim of the consultation is to establish a realistic plan, not to sell a particular treatment. If the expected result cannot be achieved with aesthetic medicine methods, we say so plainly and indicate the appropriate course of action. With significant skin laxity or excess skin, the appropriate solution is a surgical procedure, not a treatment with a filler.

Frequently asked questions
Does the consultation include diagnosis of skin diseases?
No. The consultation covers aesthetic medicine. For lesions requiring dermatological diagnostics, we refer the patient to the specialist dermatologist seeing patients at the clinic.
Can a treatment be performed at the first visit?
Some treatments can, if the medical assessment shows no contraindications and the patient decides to go ahead after the plan has been discussed. Please mention this when booking so that enough time can be reserved.
Why do you ask about earlier treatments?
The type of product used earlier and the date of the treatment matter for the safety of further procedures. Not all fillers can be dissolved enzymatically, and some require a waiting period.
Do I pay for the consultation if I decide to have a treatment?
We confirm how the consultation is charged when you book.
Can aesthetic medicine treatments be performed during pregnancy?
No. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are a contraindication to the great majority of treatments. During this time we limit ourselves to skincare recommendations.
How long do the results of the treatments last?
From a few months to two years, depending on the method and the area. We give the expected duration during the consultation, before any decision about a treatment.
